Dawson Wallace was awarded the Home Depot RDC & SDC warehouse distribution projects in November 2013. These buildings are Home Depot's Western Canada distribution centres and total 1.1 million s.f. on 66 acres of land. They consist of full height precast wall panels and a structural slab for racking up to 40' in the SDC building. The project value is approx. $90 million.

Description

Dawson Wallace Calgary was awarded the contract to construct Building A and Building C of Nose Creek Business Park in Calgary AB. These buildings, comprising 194,000 s.f. and 240,000 s.f., were the first footprint of an eventual 10,000,000 s.f. industrial business park. These buildings are 32’ clear structure, structural steel, and full height exterior precast.
This project came with the challenge of very tight schedules to meet client expectations, resulting in the requirement to install all site utilities and hard surfaces within the timeline of three months to beat the onset of winter. Dawson Wallace had proposed the Design Build storm tank system, the largest in the City of Calgary, in lieu of the tendered culvert system to expedite closure of the site to accelerate the schedule.

We completed the Technical Center for Packers Plus in February of 2012 which consisted of a 35,000 s.f. warehouse/shop space and 12,000 s.f. office on two levels. Immediately after we were retained by Packers Plus Energy Services and Verus Partners to construct the MX Facility on the same site. The project consisted of a 170,000 s.f. manufacturing facility which includes a 26,000 s.f., 52' clear height section on 18 inch structural slab to house their automated racking system, and 54,000 s.f. of premium office space on two levels.

Description

Bid & Build specified distribution warehouse with a 32’ clear structure. The total of the warehouse is 436,000 s.f. The exterior wall construction consisted of insulated metal panels from slab to parapet and stucco and block overlay.

The storefront consist of softwall, composite metal panels and curtain wall at the entrances. Both standard profile insulated metal panels as well as Granitestone panels were incorporated.
