Description

Dawson Wallace has been awarded the Design-Build contract for the industrial freezer storage expansion of Pratts Food Facility in Rockyview, Alberta. Pratt is Western Canada’s largest family run independent foodservice distributor for over one hundred years. This project is expected to start construction in October 2019 and to be completed by June 2020.

Upon completion, this new expansion project will add ~38,000 sf of light industrial freezer racking. Together with an innovative and collaborative approach, Dawson Wallace will incorporate all related refrigeration, mechanical, and electrical equipment to the current existing design. This expansion project will also include the removals, remediation, and replacement of all existing site grades, utilities, asphalt, exterior concrete aprons and sidewalks, and landscaping.

Description

Enright Capital has awarded Dawson Wallace the Construction Management contract for an industrial condo warehouse located in Calgary, Alberta. This new building will encompass 73,000 sf of floor space, 16,500 sf of raised mezzanine, and ~150,000 sf of associated sitework.

The construction of this new facility sits atop a previous meat processing facility which will be abated and demolished. The new construction will incorporate structural steel, precast wall panels, and large front curtainwalls with stepped foundations and interior slabs. The construction is scheduled to start in July 2019 and be completed in early-summer, 2020.

Description

Restaurant Brands International awarded Dawson Wallace Construction the contract for Design-Build of the Tim Hortons Calgary Distribution Centre Facility in January 2019.

Design by Gibbs Gage Architect, the 124,746 square feet distribution center on 556,429 square feet (12.8 acres) of site area, was designed to incorporate form and function including creating a future possible expansion of the facility.

The construction of this newly designed distribution center will start in March 2019 and is to be completed with freezer/cooler area, ambient and maintenance area as well as office space which will increase its usable interior space as well as 85-stalls trailer parking and 18 loading docks. The facility is planned to be one of the largest Tim Hortons Distribution Center in Western Canada once it is completed in February 2020.

Description

Dawson Wallace, working with Gibbs Gage Architects, has been contracted to construct a new school in the Cooper’s Crossing neighborhood of Airdrie which will accommodate 950 students from Kindergarten through Grade 6.

This new school will encompass 40,623 s.f. of new construction over two-storeys. Facilities being incorporated into the complex include feature entryways, a gymnasium with separate boys’ and girls’ change rooms, ancillary rooms, learning commons room, science labs, reading rooms, music room, art room, library, and numerous classrooms on both the main and upper floors. This project is targeting a LEED Silver certification and October, 2019 completion date.

Description

The Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) is a new 46,000 s.f. building with a small office component for the City of Lethbridge, to enhance the City’s recycling program. Construction commenced in May 2018 and is scheduled for completion in April 2019.

The building is a pre-engineered structure, with insulated metal panel cladding on the walls and roof. The facility will be clear span, meaning there are no interior columns, with a steel fibre reinforced slab. The building has a loading dock component, large overhead doors and it will be equipped with hand sorting and machinery sorting equipment. There are elevated sorting cabins which will be placed in conjunction with the third party conveyor and baler systems.

Description

The Haskayne Legacy Park Building is located in the Calgary’s northwest section, neighbouring the community of Bearspaw, positioned in the County of Rockyview. This Park Pavilion will be an outdoor/indoor multi-purpose facility with an occupancy of around 50 people. Some unique architectural features are the weathered steel, the wood deck ceiling, along with open glazing, exposed concrete, and a paving stone walkway.

This Pavillion will include washrooms, a decorative fireplace, storage, and a small office space covering approximately 2,420 s.f., with a total site square footage of 68,864 s.f. This project will follow sustainable building initiatives, including a net zero target, along with a geothermal heating system. Anticipated turnover date for the Park Pavilion building is late 2018
