Description

Dawson Wallace has been engaged by the Owner, Brentwood Developments, since early 2016 to provide construction management services for their proposed Strachan Corner Development in Medicine Hat, Alberta. These services include but are not limited too; budgeting, design support, scheduling, tendering, methodology and constructability feedback and cost control for the project.

The construction, commenced in January 2017, and includes the demolition of an existing Wal-Mart and related site surfaces and underground utilities. Phase I of new construction will consist of one box store commercial building of approximately 70,000 containing room for four different retail shops including a new Save On Foods, and one 10,000 sqft CRU building. In addition, Phase I also includes brand new underground services, and all site improvements including new asphalt parking lot, sidewalks, site lighting and landscaping. Phase II has future site expansion adding additional CRU space, stand alone restaurant pads, various tenant fit-ups, and a gas bar. Dawson Wallace has also been engaged to build a brand new Tim Hortons on the Brentwood development site.

Description

Construction of a new 70,000 s.f. middle school complete with full site development. The building is constructed out of both structural steel and load bearing block, with a glazed main entrance and over ten different roof lines. This new school will house a large gym, gathering and ancillary spaces, classrooms, a science and shop space, drama and band rooms, and a large library. The school will also be ringed with modular classrooms and room to accommodate future modulars.

This building is a structural steel and block constructed building on a site area of 5.83 acres. This school will be part of the Calgary Catholic School District and will host 600 kids from grades K-6. This school will have 9 classrooms, an art, music and science room, full gymnasium, and the ability to expand with two future portable classrooms. This school will help kids continue to seek education in the community they are being raised. This complex tender awarded by CSSD is valued at approx. 11.3 million dollars and is expected to be completed for class in 2017.

Description

The Permanent Response Station No. 7 project is a City of Calgary Building Infrastructure project awarded to Dawson Wallace in November 2015. This Mount Pleasant project includes the abatement and demolition of an existing firehall and rebuild of a 12,320 s.f., three storey fire station with offices, kitchen, sleeping quarters, outdoor over-hanging terrace, and garages. This building is constructed on piles and grade beams and is structural cast-in-place concrete with stone and composite metal panel finish.
